The sea at least dies dry on land.
But love's far reaches wash no shore.
I'll take my harp and scale the tower
to empty rooms full of the moon,
and strum the song of missing him.
Both heart and harp will break in tune.

La gente dice
che il mare è profondo.
L’amore che egli mi dà è quello e più.
Almeno il mare muore in secca a terra.
Ma il suo raggiungermi non lava sponde.
Prenderò l’arpa e salirò la torre
alle vuote stanze piene di luna,
per le canzoni della lontananza.
Cuore e arpa si spezzano in accordo.
