William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)
Through winter-time we call on spring,
And through the spring on summer call,
And when abounding hedges ring
Declare that winter's best of all;
And after that there s nothing good
Because the spring-time has not come —
Nor know that what disturbs our blood
Is but its longing for the tomb.
And through the spring on summer call,
And when abounding hedges ring
Declare that winter's best of all;
And after that there s nothing good
Because the spring-time has not come —
Nor know that what disturbs our blood
Is but its longing for the tomb.

Temperato che fu il meridiano!
La prima a venir meno primavera
di quattro morì stagione mediana
dedita a mitigare passeggera
i picchi estremi fra il freddo e il caldo
ma ora eliminato pur l'inverno
mediterraneo svendesi a saldo:
temperatura unica in eterno?
in caso non avessimo un'estate -
estinta frutta fresca di stagione,
la pioggia radunata nel monsone -
terra smossa da migranti a palate
luna che muta ora lascia ora piglia
ai futuri la gradualità instilla.
